Lithographed with outstanding detailed hand color. Large folding map printed on a nice sturdy onion-skin paper.

Excellent example of this scarce 19th century nautical coast chart.

Stunningly detailed, with endless sounding depths, small islands, bays, inlets, etc.

The coastal terrain is depicted with a splendid delicate level of precision utterly unique to this type of map. 

With lovely detailed full hand color, a genuinely superior visual example.

Printed on a much sturdier "onion-skin" or bond type paper, unlike most 19th century Government nautical charts which were printed on a thin tissue paper. As always found on these 1879 Government lithographed charts, a tiny pin-hole in each of the four corners (all but invisible) used by the lithographer to secure the sheet down for printing.
