A New and Accurate Map of the Northern Parts of Italy, Comprehending Savoy, Piedmont, Milan, Parma, Mantua, Modena, Tuscany with the Republicks of Venice, Genoa and Lucca...

A Draught of the Road of Leghorn.

(Livorno  / Gulf of Genoa, Italy / France, Mediterranean/ Italia/ etc.).

Issued London, 1766 by Emanuel Bowen.

Uncommon mid-18th century engraved map.

Wonderful coast chart of Livorno across the bottom with sounding depths, shoals, fortified walls, terrain, etc.

Map sheet has a small institutional embossed name stamp within Tuscany which blends in visually and is easy to miss or overlook (most people will never see it, even if they look for it).

Print paper and engraved area remains well preserved. Some light age wear or surface spotting/ soiling which is visible within the scan, nothing offensive or severe, overall remains visually attractive and historically interesting.

Sheet measures 9 3/4" x 14 3/4".

Tooleys Dictionary of Mapmakers, v. I, p. 176.
