The extensive index at the front notes Missionary work then being done in many parts of the world, including Asia, India, among Native American tribes, Jewish peoples, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, African islands, Fiji, Ceylon, Oahu, Syria, Palestine; on and on.
Period leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting leather label. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, typical scuffing and rubbing yet leather is supple, binding secure and strong.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
