(Jugendstil- German Art Nouveau aesthetic)
Issued c.1911, Germany, by Langen & Heine for Simplicissimus.
Wonderful early 20th century Art Nouveau printed image. Lithographed.
Of numismatic interest for the unusual and uncommon prominent depiction of U.S. paper currecny ($5 National Bank notes of the era). Ads like this are few and far between and not easily collected given their ephemeral nature and how most people would be unaware of them when browsing through a periodical of the era.
Paper and image remains clean and well preserved with a fine patina and visual appeal, uniformly age toned as typical for this periodical paper, printed on reverse as always.
Sheet measures c. 14 1/2"H x 10 5/8"W.
Printed area measures c. 13 3/4"H x 9 5/8"W.
