Scarce early 19th century engraved print. A detailed from Cook's third and final voyage to this remote and previously little known location.

Among the earliest printed views related to New Zealand based upon actual observation. A scarce Dutch variant printing, based upon the English version printed a few years prior in London.

In Good to near VG or better condition, normal minor light age toning to sheet as typical to paper of this era, some scattered minor foxing primarily in the blank margin, and some light age wear along the fold lines. However these do not detract from the overall appearance of the image- please inspect visual scan closely.

Various original fold lines as issued. Item was acquired nicely folded as originally issued and we unfolded it only for photographing. Item will be stored & shipped folded, which is far safer than open.

Sheet measures c. 14 7/8" W x 9 7/8" H.
