This early version includes mention of Cook's death on Sandwich islands, small inset of Wilkes' Discoveries along the Antarctic continent, color coded key showing European colonies and "Botany Bay Colony" along Australian coastline in NSW. An explanation key left of the title notes how place names which are underlined denote those areas where Christian missionaries have had the most success (converting and propagating religion).

Clean, well-preserved, fresh-looking example with strong bold original hand color which is unique to the era.
