Pensacola harbor Florida c.1822-33 Blunt small old nautical chart coastal mapBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian
Pensacola Harbor Reduced from the Survey of maj. Kearney, USTE.
(Florida- Rosa Island)
Issued New York, c.1822-33 by E. & G.W. Blunt. Likely engraved by Hooker.
Charming little early-19th century miniature engraved coastal chart. Early state of the plate, prior to the revolving lighthouse and various military buildings seen on later states of it issued from 1837 on.
With pleasing full hand color which greatly enhances the visual appeal of this small map.
Countless sounding depths, various navigational features including shoals, light house, directions for sailing and inlets, etc.
Nice looking example, some minor extraneous fold lines, central fold line slightly age browned and wrinkled, minor light surface age wear and toning as typical, but overall a superior visual example. Any age flaws are easy to forgive visually.
Original fold lines as issued.
