8 volumes, each volume c. 150 pages. Text in English. Frontis engraving in each volume protected by tissue guard.
Period soft (limp) leather bindings, title in gilt on spines, cover decorated with central gilt pictorial stamp.
Bindings remains clean, tight and sound. Minor chipping to some spine ends, tiny scuff spots, minor rubbing, but leather remains supple, books are clean, tight and sound. Interior contents clean and largely free of any spotting or foxing. Early owners custom armorial book plate to front free end paper of each.
Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
