Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the book. Nicer than typical for the type of binding and era.
Poems, by Alfred Tennyson, Vols. 1 & 2. [two volumes in one].
1845, London, Edward Moxon. pp. 231.
In a nice period polished morocco full leather binding. Cambridge style covers with concentric gilt ruled boxes, floral corner devices, spine richly and intricately gilt stamped in filigree patterning with contrasting red morocco title labels, Marbled end papers and edges, lovely gilt turn-ins. Fine typography, wide blank margins, handsome looking antiquarian book.
Joints a little rubbed, a few scattered small surface scuffs, slight wear spots, but still sound, tight, clean and very attractive.
Book measures: 6 3/4" H X 4 1/2" W.
