Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the book. Nicer than typical for the type of binding and era.
Vanity Fair, A Novel Without a Hero, by William Makepeace Thackeray.
1930, London, George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd. pp. 754.
Sixteen (16) color plates by Charles Crombie.
Beautiful early 20th century 1/2 leather. Morocco binding, raised bands, compartments nicely gilt decorated with devices, contrasting title label, top edge gilt, marbled covers and end papers.
Lovely antiquarian book, overall clean, tight and sound, minor small age stains or flaws, couple nicks or scuff marks to spine, nothing offensive or severe. Leather remains supple, firmly bound, hinges tight, fresh internally.
Book measures: 8 5/8" H X 6 1/4" W.
