Scarce and charming small early 19th century pocket atlas. Contains 87 engraved maps of the entire world [10 of which are folding, 2 being Celestial]. The entire production is engraved, there is no letterpress used.
Bound in at rear is a supplemental large folding hand colored map of Belgium [by Monin] with extensive statistical charts and a currency [monetary] conversion table.
Appealing original 1/4 leather binding. Smooth spine gilt ruled into compartments with tiny flower devices. Old "104" stamped at head of front cover and first three leaves (see video).
Well preserved, mostly clean overall, any flaws or minor age spotting easy to forgive visually or overlook.
Book measures: 6" H X 4 3/4" W.
