Fine and interesting early 17th antique map. Engraved with beautiful full hand color. Text below and on verso as always for this well known world map.
Sheet remains well preserved, clean, very nice example. Small old stain spot beside South America within ocean.
Note the huge southern continent with mountains across the entire bottom southern polar latitudes. A total absence of Australia. South America with bulbous shape. Direct sea inlet shown to what are the Great Lakes, note shape of North America. Interior mountain ranges corresponding to modern day Rockies.
