First Impression; or Hints to Those Who Would Make Home Happy, by Mrs. Ellis.
Published 1842, New York by D. Appleton & Company.
174 pages. Text in English.

Bound With:

The Child at Home- incomplete work from c. 1831-2, which begins on pg. 28 with "Deception" and continues until the end. One engraved plate within, a couple of pages repaired, one leaf with small printed loss near the bottom. Book has clearly been much read and handled and is interesting today for this reason.

Three separate works bound into this one sammelband volume. Early American juvenile with an interesting condition.

1/4 leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering, marbled covers. Unidentified work at rear, lacking title page. Begins on page 29, continues to end on pg. 180.

Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding well age worn, leather rubbed, front joint cracked, cover very loosely held. Remains overall attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique book survives.

Book Measures c. 4 3/4" H x 4" W.
