An oversize and evidently very uncommon late 18th-century map of the Iberian peninsula, boasting a profusion of place names.

In Good+ to near VG condition overall, a few minor age spots and a small centerfold split, but still very attractive and visually pleasing. With full original hand color, as issued.

Late 18th-century folio sheet maps issued in London by Bowles and Carver are quite scarce. Their enormous atlas must have been printed in very small numbers and have had a very limited distribution. In searching map price records and we find very few Bowles & Carver maps in general, and virtually none of this particular map.

Sheet measures c. 27 1/2" W x  21 1/4 " H.
